What Sets Us Apart
Our Approach
Alongside their specialized expertise in neuropsychological and educational assessment, our clinicians have extensive backgrounds in child, adolescent, and family therapy. This experience helps us build trust with young people, understand families’ everyday lives, and adapt our approach to each child’s needs.
We believe the evaluation process itself can be therapeutic. Parents often tell us they feel heard from the beginning and that the process brings together a fuller picture of their child. We combine careful listening with in-depth assessment to understand each child’s strengths, challenges, and experiences.
In our feedback sessions, we help parents understand how the findings fit together and what they mean for everyday life. When appropriate, we also meet with young people to help them better understand themselves. Our goal is for families to leave with greater clarity and a practical plan for moving forward.
Our Reports
Our written evaluation reports explain the findings in clear, accessible language, showing how a child’s strengths, challenges, and everyday experiences fit together. We help families understand our conclusions, as well as the reasoning behind them. Parents often comment on the depth of understanding reflected in our reports.
We take equal care with our recommendations, explaining what support is needed, why it is appropriate, and how it should be provided. This gives families, schools, and treating professionals concrete guidance they can put into practice. Families, educators, and advocates tell us that our clear and specific recommendations make it easier to communicate a child’s needs and secure appropriate services.
Our Follow Through
Follow-through is an essential part of our assessment process. We build close working relationships with families and stay involved as they make sense of the findings and put recommendations into practice. After parents have had time to read the report, we often reconnect to answer questions and talk through next steps.
We present our findings at school team meetings and consult with treating providers to support a shared understanding of a child’s needs. If disagreements arise around educational needs or services, we are always prepared to explain and stand behind our recommendations.
Our relationships with families often span many years. Seeing their children grow into successful young adults, and knowing how far they have come, is one of the greatest joys of our work.
